Much used in the Mediterranean and Greece countries, tzatziki is a yogurt sauce that refreshes and soothes the hotness of spicy food. Tzatziki can be refrigerated the day before to allow its garlicky, smooth flavor to come to the fore.
Ingredients
- 1 large cucumber
- 3 dl Greek yoghurt
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh dill can be omitted
Instructions
- Wash and slice the cucumber.
- Use a spoon to scoop out the seeds.
- Grate the cucumber and with salt.
- Finely chop the garlic and dill.
- Mix the ingredients together and leave to season for 15 minutes.
- Tzatziki is best the next day.
