Minced Meat Macaroni is something that even the chefs are happy to make at home. Unpretentious but delicious – it combines two great Finnish loves; minced meat and macaroni. The most time-consuming part of the Minced Meat Macaroni is the onion browning. It is best not to rush cooking them. Sunday special of this recipe includes blue cheese and sweet thai-chili sauce!
Ingredients
- 500 g macaroni
- 400 g minced beef
- 1 large yellow onion
- 2 tablespoons soya
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
Sunday special
- 8 tbsp blue cheese crumbles
- 8 tbsp thai chilli sauce
Instructions
- Bring 2 litres of water to a boil. Add a generous amount of salt. Cook the macaroni and drain.
- Peel the onion and chop it as small as you can. Pour the cooking oil into the pan and add the onions. Put the pan on heat and stir fry the onions until the liquid is gone and they turn a nice golden colour. This is when the flavour intensifies and the onions also taken on a sweet side. This easily takes up to 10 minutes.
- After that add the minced meat and fry it quickly until cooked through in a few minutes. Season generously. Mix the Minced Meat Macaroni in a pot.
- Serve the Minced Meat Macaroni with ketchup.
Sunday special
- This macaroni is true beauty. Skip the ketchup, and crumble blue cheese on top of the dish. Pour sweet thai chilli sauce over the top as well. It's absolutely delicious treat!
