Naan bread is delicious even in the home oven, although not as good as found in restaurants. If you have a pizza stone, you should bake the Naan on it. It is best to heat the pizza stone while the oven heats up. Naan bread can also be seasoned with a variety of herbs and spices and even dried fruit.

Naan Bread
Ingredients
- 5 dl wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 50 g butter
- 2 dl milk
- 2 dl natural yoghurt
Instructions
- Mix the salt and baking soda into the sifted flour.
- Add the milk, yoghurt and half of the melted butter to the mixture.
- Mix quickly – don’t knead the dough too much to prevent it from sticking. If you are seasoning the bread, do it at this stage.
- Let the bread dough rise in the bowl for a while.
- Put the oven on a high heat.
- Use a wooden fork to lift the dough onto a greased baking tray. With a moistened hand, pat the pieces into thin long rounded discs.
- Bake the naans at 275°C for 7-10 minutes, until brown spots appear on the surface and the crust bubbles up. When done, brush the cooked loaves with the butter sauce.
