The rather light nose has ripe strawberry, vanilla, and spices like cinnamon.
The taste brings sweet strawberries, other red berries, meat broth and some spiciness to the mouth. The tannins are particularly noticeable in the finish. The wine is quite exceptional in style for a wine from the Douro Valley, even slightly reminiscent of New World Pinot Noirs. Serve with lighter meats such as pork or duck.
