Beautifully developed nose; rhubarb jam and fennel. There are still a few green notes in the back, though. Gun bowdery soil in the background. If minerality can be smelled, this wine has it.
Despite its age (2013 vintage), the wine still has a fresh acidity. Smooth, oily mouthfeel. Long and spicy finish. The minerality can be felt on the tongue as a tingling sensation. A great demonstration of Silvaner’s ageing potential. Decant an hour before drinking. Serve with smoked fish at a festive dinner.
