The sweet currant scent is a hint of the Cab’s edge. Also includes Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot.
A full-bodied, fruity wine with a great acid profile. The long finish of currant and cherry is laced with subtle oak and its accompanying brisk tannins. The right side of Bordeaux comes to mind.
A great wine, at a great price. If you want to slice a bit of the fruitiness, keep it in the cellar for a couple of years. But it goes nicely with a steak or meat pie right today.
