Instructions
Cook the macaroni in well-salted water until almost done. Pour off the water and leave to steam for a while.
While the macaroni is boiling, melt the butter in a saucepan and stir in the wheat flour. Whisk in the milk and bring to a rapid boil. Season with white pepper, salt and sugar. Melt in the cheddar and leave the cheese sauce to rest.
Mix the ingredients, pour into a baking dish and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
Gratinate the Mac and Cheese under a grill rack or in a 250C oven for a few minutes to allow the crust to colour a little. Be careful not to burn.
Let the Mac and cheese to cool for 15 minutes after the oven and serve it.
